Biography
Louisa's future engagements include a concert staging of Porgy and Bess with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester at the Internationales Musikfest Hamburg in the 2020–21 season, as well as a new production of Rinaldo for Pinchgut Opera, returns to Los Angeles Opera for Tannhäuser and to Lyric Opera of Chicago for Tosca, and her debut with Opera Colorado for Tosca, all of which were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She will also return to Garsington Opera for multiple productions following her previous critical success there. Last season, she returned to Lyric Opera of Chicago to direct Madama Butterfly and again to direct to the annual Rising Stars Concert featuring the artists of the Ryan Opera Center, in addition to returning to the Metropolitan Opera roster for Akhnaten. Her new production of Gordon's The Grapes of Wrath at the Aspen Music Festival in the summer of 2020 was cancelled due to COVID-19. In the 2018–19 season, she debuted with Minnesota Opera and Los Angeles Opera, leading La traviata and Don Carlo, respectively, and returned to the Metropolitan Opera for its revival of Don Giovanni. She also returned to the Lyric Opera of Chicago to stage the Rising Stars Concert. This season she has built a private coaching studio and is a Guest Dramatic Coach for the Ryan Opera Center.
