This book serves as a vision statement for American opera according to the young people who are going to take it over. Comprising interviews with several young professionals from all aspects of the creative process, the book also contains recommendations for opera companies to implement now to ensure a sustainable model for opera going into the future. I want to thank all of the people who I interviewed for this project, for their insight was truly spectacular. Plus, with the addition of informational annotations throughout, the language of this book is accessible to everyone regardless of their experience with opera! In a time where everything is up in the air, this book hopefully will provide the industry with suggestions to lay a stronger foundation for the future.
