Ivey Barr is a resourceful, irrepressible artist and inveterate performer of pants roles.
Ivey creates opportunities to perform wherever she can - even if that means building an opera company from scratch just because she liked singing Cherubino in undergrad. With Comet Opera, she not only performed a leading role in each semester's show, but translated, music-directed, created a pastiche operetta, coached younger singers, and marketed the company's productions to the local opera community. Her trademark ardor, creativity, and physicality brought opportunities outside of college as well, including Prince Orlofsky with Little Opera Company of Charlotte, NC, and Perdita in The Winter's Tale with Public Works Dallas at Dallas Theater Center, where she worked with director Kent Gash.
