Biography

Paull-Anthony Keightley

Paull-Anthony made his European debut in 2018 at the Deutsche Oper Berlin singing Doctor Grenvil in La Traviata. As a member of the company’s ensemble he appeared in fifteen productions including Nabucco, Die Zauberflöte, Salome and Eugene Onegin. For the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons he is a member of Theatre Basel’s OperAvenir where his performances include Colline in La Bohème, Hobson in Peter Grimes, Simone in Gianni Schicchi, Die Zauberflöte, La Traviata, Intermezzo, Al gran sole carico d’amore. His operatic repertoire includes Parson & Badger in The Cunning Little Vixen, Zuniga in Carmen, Leporello in Don Giovanni and Frank in Die Fledermaus. While on the concert stage he has performed the title role in Mendelssohn’s Elijah and soloist in Vaughn Williams’ Fantasia on Christmas Carols, Faure’s Requiem, Bach’s Cantata BWV. 147, Rossini’s Stabat Mater and Mozart's Missa Brevis in F major. A graduate of Manhattan School of Music and the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Paull-Anthony was named the winner of the 2017 Opera Foundation for Young Australians' Deutsche Oper Berlin Award, received the Richard Bonynge Award in the Joan Sutherland & Richard Bonynge Bel Canto Award and the ROSL award IFAC Handa Australian Singing Competition. He was awarded scholarships from the Australian Music Foundation, the Australian Elizabethan Theatre Trust and the Royal Schools of Music Club and is the proud recipient of the Melba Opera Trust's Amelia Joscelyne Memorial Scholarship, Sir Robert William Askin Operatic Scholarship, Tait Memorial Trust’s Julian Baring Award.
