Emily Blair

Praised for her “sweet, rich voice,” (South Florida Classical Review) and “coloratura flourishes”, (Palm Beach Arts Paper") soprano Emily Blair is excited to join the prestigious Merola Opera Program for their 2021 season singing Lady with a Cake Box in Postcard from Morocco and featured in the Grand Finale. During the 2019-20 season, Ms. Blair was a second year Benenson Young Artist at Palm Beach Opera where she sang the role of Sandman in Hansel and Gretel and covered the roles of Liu in Turandot and Tatiana in Eugene Onegin. During the 2018-2019 season, she stepped in to make her company principal role debut singing Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus. Additionally, during her residency, she sang Annina in La traviata, and covered Donna Anna in Don Giovanni. Over the summer Blair joined The Princeton Festival covering Pat Nixon in Nixon In China. Previously, Ms. Blair joined City Lyric Opera (formerly ARE Opera) covering Juliette in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette. In the 2016-2017 season, she was named Semi-Finalist in both the Young Patronesses of Opera Competition and the Opera Birmingham Competition, and made her debut with Ping & Woof Opera in Portland, Oregon as Angelica in Handel’s Orlando. Previously, Ms. Blair joined Portland Opera as The Mother in Hansel and Gretel in their outreach program, and sang Countess Alamviva with Opera Upper West’s inaugural production of Le nozze di Figaro. Internationally, she sang Mrs. Grose in The Turn of the Screw with Opera on the Avalon and Cleopatra in Giulio Cesare with the Trentino Music Festival.
