Biography
A standout performer on the opera stage, American mezzo-soprano Alexandra Rodrick is by turns a fiercely dominating force and a deeply sensitive storyteller. Lauded by Opera News for her "especially healthy young voice," Rodrick has distinguished herself as a fearless singing actress with powerful vocal facility. Rodrick has performed all over the world, most notably under the baton of Seiji Ozawa singing Carmen while on tour with VEROZA Japan. She's also performed with Chautauqua Opera, San Diego Opera, Baltimore Concert Opera, OperaDelaware, Wolf Trap Opera, Vero Beach Opera, Boston University Opera Institute, Atlanta Opera, and Des Moines Metro Opera. Rodrick splits her time between New York City and San Diego; she is a lover of wildlife and a devoted member and volunteer at the San Diego Zoo, where she can often be found on her days off at home in San Diego. She is a founding member of LA CENA È PRONTA, an innovative project exploring the intersection between sustainable food and music.
