A committed educator, Mr. Dold joined the Santa Clara University Piano Faculty in 2018 and continues to serve as the department’s collaborative pianist specializing in instrumental repertoire. He has held a concurrent appointment to the Collaborative Piano Staff of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music since 2013. He has both adjudicated and presented for the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), the Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC), the California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT) and most notably, the United States Open Music Competition (USOMC) for which he also designed and implemented the staff pianist program as Director of Piano Accompanying. Mr. Dold has held prior positions on the faculties and staffs of the Duxbury Music Festival of Massachusetts, the Mondavi Young Artist Competition at U.C. Davis, Opera San Jose, the Crowden Music School in Berkeley, CA, and the Indiana University Pre-college String and Piano Academies. He received his graduate and undergraduate degrees at Indiana University, where he studied piano performance with Reiko Shigeoka-Neriki, chamber music with Yael Weiss, and collaborative piano with Chih-Yi Chen.
