Meredith Bloomfield

Other highlights of recent seasons include covering the title role in Cilea’s opera Gloria with Teatro Grattacielo in New York City and her first performances of Tosca with Amore Opera, also in New York City. She received great critical acclaim for her role debut as Leonore in Fidelio with West Bay Opera in Palo Alto, CA. In April of 2017, Ms. Mecum Bloomfield made her Stern Auditorium debut at Carnegie Hall with MidAmerica Productions performing John Rutter’s Requiem. Other pervious concert performances include appearances as Soprano Soloist in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with Williamsport Symphony Orchestra and the Conductor’s Retreat at Medomak. She has also performed as Soprano Soloist in Faure’s Requiem, Saint Saens’s Christmas Oratorio, Poulenc’s Gloria and Mendelssohn’s Hear My Prayer at Hitchcock Presbyterian Church. As a participant in the prestigious Merola Opera Program in the summer of 2015, Ms. Mecum Bloomfield performed in the Schwabacher Summer Concert and Merola Grand Finale. She lent her “huge soprano voice” (Civic Center, San Francisco) to excerpts from Susannah (Susannah), Die Walküre (Brünnhilde) and The Queen of Spades (Lisa). Also in 2015, she originated the role of Clara Schumann in Victoria Bond’s Clara with Cutting Edge Concerts and the Gramercy Trio at Symphony Space in New York. Ms. Mecum Bloomfield is the recipient of several important awards and grants. Most recently, she was named Winner of The American Prize for Women in Opera in 2018.
