Jennifer Panara

Described as possessing a "characterful and beautifully knit mezzo” (Opera News) and "winning" stage presence (The New York Times), Jennifer Panara, mezzo-soprano is currently in her second year as a member of the Ensemble at Theater St. Gallen, Switzerland. The current season's engagements include Sesto Pompeo (Giulio Cesare), Paula (Florencia en el Amazonas), and Maria Rainer (The Sound of Music). Ms. Panara joined the Ensemble of Theater St. Gallen in the 2019/2020 Season, performing the roles of Siébel (Faust), Oreste (La belle Hélène), the Kitchen Boy (Rusalka), and Maguelonne (Viardot's Cendrillon). In addition, she was scheduled to make her debut in the Kölner Philharmonie with Gürzenich-Orchester Köln in 2020 performing alongside tenor Rolando Villazón in a concert which was cancelled due to COVID-19. Recent, notable company/role debuts include: Infantin Isabella (Märchen im Grand-Hotel) and Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel) with Staatstheater Mainz; the Fox (The Cunning Little Vixen) with Theater Hagen; Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro) with North Carolina Opera; Mae (The Grapes of Wrath) with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis; and Third Dryad (Rusalka) with Minnesota Opera. Additionally, Ms. Panara was a 2016 Quarterfinalist in Plácido Domingo’s Operalia: The World Opera Competition, held in Guadalajara, Mexico.
