This Summer, Ms. Springer will be performing the role of Adina in L’elisir d’amore with Jerusalem Lyric Opera, a role she debuted in 2018 with the Mediterranean Opera Festival. Additionally, Ms. Springer looks forward to making her company debut with Charlottesville Opera, and will be part of the Savannah VOICE Festival run by Sherrill Milnes as a studio artist. During the 2019-20 season, Ms. Springer performed the roles of Suor Genovieffa in Suor Angelica, Mary Hildebrand in Street Scene, and covered the role of Miss Jessel in The Turn of the Screw, all with Mannes Opera. A lover of art song and an expressive recitalist, Ms. Springer performed in several “Evening of Song” concerts as a featured guest artist with Mannes’ collaborative piano department. Ms. Springer’s recital experience includes performances of Schumann’s iconic Liederkreis Op. 39 and Frauenliebe und leben, as well as Poulenc’s Fiançailles pour rire and La courte paille. An up and coming proponent of modern opera, Ms. Springer has performed frequently with both Mannes Sounds Festival as well as Columbia University’s New Opera Workshop. As an undergraduate, she had the privilege of working directly with composer William Bolcom while performing the role of Ms. Alden in his opera Dinner at Eight. Additional role highlights include Athena in The Judgement of Paris by Eccles, and Gustave in Offenbach’s comedic Pomme d’Api.Ms. Springer recently completed her Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Mannes. She holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Michigan, and spent the first two years at Barnard.
