Biography

Shelley Ng

Pianist Shelley Ng is known for her communicative, colourful and memorable performances. She has performed on three continents in venues including Carnegie Hall, the Seiji Ozawa Hall at Tanglewood, Harris Hall in Aspen, Milton Court and the St. James Church-Piccadilly in London, the Hong Kong City Hall, and Hong Kong Cultural Center. She was twice an Instrumental Piano Fellow at the prestigious Tanglewood Festival and has participated in other renowned international festivals such as the Aspen Music Festival. Her performances and interviews have been broadcast on Radio Television Hong Kong. Highlights of her 2019-2020 season includes transcription and performance of the piano solo for John Cage’s Concert for Piano and Orchestra, Oliver Knussen’s Sonya’s Lullaby in his tribute concert, Bernstein, Beethoven and Previn Trios, Brahms and Schumann Piano Quintets, Rzewski’s Coming Together, Ravel’s Frontispice with Jacob Greenberg, the American premiere of Hilda Paredes’ Revelación, playing two pianos at the same time in Asyla under Thomas Adès’ baton and others. She also appeared in over 250 solo and chamber music concerts on the Lincoln Center Stage in addition to the Taiwan International Festival of Arts as the guest artist of the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble.
