Biography

Madeleine Snow

New York-based director Madeleine Snow is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Opera Stage Directing at the Eastman School of Music. In the 2020-2021 season, Madeleine made her debut with Eastman Opera Theatre directing HEART MELODIES, a collection of songs by Ricky Ian Gordon. In May, Madeleine will bring an inventive, immersive twist to scenes and arias from Mozart’s most beloved operas in site-specific, outdoor performances as a part of MOZART MAY-HEM. Also with Eastman Opera Theatre, she will assistant direct filmed productions of Argento’s POSTCARD FROM MOROCCO and Puts’s ELIZABETH CREE. Madeleine recently completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology and Theater, Dance & Media at Harvard University, where she stage directed critically acclaimed productions of DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE and Massenet’s CENDRILLON with Harvard College Opera. She curated several concerts in collaboration the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard and was awarded the 2019 Pechet Opera Fellowship with Lowell House Opera, the longest-running opera company in New England. Madeleine also assistant directed productions with the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, including THE MAGIC FLUTE in Boston Symphony Hall and CARMEN in Sanders Theater.
