Joanna Mongiardo

Joanna Mongiardo is recognized for her effortless coloratura and spellbinding charisma on stage. Recent engagements include the title role in Rossini’s Semiramide with Opéra Nice Côte d’Azur, Brigitta in Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta with Dallas Opera, Cinna in Mozart's Lucio Silla with Odyssey Opera, Handel’s Messiah with National Chorale and Mahler’s 4th Symphony with Novus NY. This past fall, Joanna rejoined New York City Opera for their 75th Anniversary Concert and Teatro Grattacielo for Resphigi's La bella addormentata nel bosco. Joanna’s signature roles include Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier, Juliette in Roméo et Juliette, Anne Trulove in The Rake’s Progress, and Blonde in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, which she has performed more than 30 times, including at Grande Théâtre de Genève, Opéra de Nice, and Deutsche Oper am Rhein. She has performed her signature concert work, Carmina Burana, with more than 15 orchestras, including Philadelphia Orchestra, Detroit Symphony, National Symphony Orchestra, and Oratorio Society of New York.
