Biography

Diane Yang

Hailing from Baltimore, MD, Diane Yang holds both a Master's and Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance from Northwestern University and the University of Michigan. Diane was born to a family with three generations of professional musicians, starting violin lessons with her mother. Since then, major teachers have included Blair Milton of the Chicago Symphony and Rebecca Henry of Peabody Conservatory. Diane has sat concertmaster for the Northwestern University Symphony Orchestra, the Texas Music Festival Orchestra, and won numerous competitions in the DC metropolitan area. Notable moments include collaborating with the Dover String Quartet at Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival, Steve Dann and Vera Beths at Domaine Forget, playing at the John F. Kennedy Center, and sitting co-concertmaster at the National Repertory Orchestra On The Lake! Concert. Currently based in Chicago, IL, Diane is an associate member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and the Artist Intern for Fifth House Ensemble.
