Biography

Aaron Jenkins

Aaron T. Jenkins is an American Vocalist from Grand Junction, Colorado. Aaron started singing from a very young age in church. There he was able to embolden his voice and create it for theater. Most recently he has started a performing arts school called This Great Hope Initiative LLC. Last Fall He traveled with Portland Opera To Go singing Rodolfo in a touring production of La Bohème. There he was amazed by the extensive educational practices. In 2018, he received a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from Mannes School for Music at The New School in New York City. In Colorado Aaron earned a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Colorado Boulder . During his time at Mannes he performed with singers from all over the world with Mannes Opera, MACE Orchestra, New Amsterdam Opera. Aaron joined a Summer at Glimmerglass Festival in Cooperstown, NY in the new production of Blue by Jeanine Tesori and Tazwell Thompson and Showboat by Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II. His most recent performances include Michael in the new musical The Battle, Not The War with composer Zachary Catron. Before moving to New York, Aaron performed at the University of Colorado with The Eklund Opera Program. Including roles such as Bardolfo in Falstaff, Liberto in L’incoronazione di Poppea, and Bruce in Side by Side by Sondheim. Jenkins has won the Anderson’s Voice Competition three years in a row in 2013, 2014 and 2015. He played Uncle Billy in CUNOW’s Workshop of Jake Heggie’s It’s a Wonderful Life which premiered at Houston Grand Opera and San Francisco Opera.
